Metro53 - New Delhi (Web Desk):India has announced its 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2026, which will also represent the country in the five-match T20 series against New Zealand.

Notably, vice-captain Shubman Gill and Jitesh Sharma were dropped from the squad, with selectors showing confidence in Rinku Singh and Ishan Kishan instead.

Axar Patel has been appointed as the new vice-captain, following his consistent all-round performances, and has established himself as a key member of the team.

The series against New Zealand is being considered an important preparation for the T20 World Cup. India is the current T20 World Cup champion, having defeated South Africa in the 2024 final to claim the title.
