Metro53 - Rawalpindi (Web Desk):PTI founder Imran Khan has said that he will not step back even an inch from his position and will continue his struggle for what he termed the freedom of the people. He conveyed this message through party leadership, calling on supporters to raise their voices on the streets, saying there were no other options left.
Addressing a press conference at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said that, according to lawyers, Imran Khan is being kept in solitary confinement. He added that a new notification has been issued for upcoming trials under which family members will not be allowed access to the courtroom, and hearings will be conducted via video link, with judges sitting at remote locations.
Salman Akram Raja said court orders had previously guaranteed Imran Khan the right to a fair and open trial, but his Tuesday and Thursday meetings have now been suspended. He rejected government claims that meetings were being allowed, calling them false.
He stated that Imran Khan believes all avenues of justice have been closed, alleging that his cases are not being heard in courts and that legal relief is being denied. According to Raja, Imran Khan has urged the public to stand up for their rights and begin preparations for a street movement, saying protest is now the only remaining option.
The PTI leader said that Imran Khan met briefly with his lawyer Salman Safdar earlier in the day. He added that when the verdict was announced, neither Imran Khan nor his lawyers were present in court.
Salman Akram Raja further said that Imran Khan expressed concern over the imprisonment of his wife Bushra Bibi, claiming she was jailed due to her relationship with him. He reiterated that Imran Khan remains firm on his stance and has called on supporters to continue their struggle for what he described as justice and fundamental rights.
