Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk) – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has submitted the names of players in the preliminary squad for the T20 World Cup 2026 to the International Cricket Council (ICC).

According to sources, the PCB sent the names ahead of the official deadline. The PCB can make changes to the squad before January 31 without ICC approval. After that date, any changes will require permission from the ICC Technical Committee.

Along with the initial 15-member squad, the names of reserve players have also been submitted to the ICC. Sources stated that the PCB plans to announce the final squad after the Sri Lanka series and ahead of the Australia series. During the Sri Lanka tour, the PCB intends to assess the performance of one or two players.

The preliminary squad includes players from the Sri Lanka tour, along with Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Haris Rauf.

The ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled from February 7 in India and Sri Lanka. Pakistan will play all its matches in Sri Lanka, including the semi-finals and final if they progress.

Sri Lanka Tour Squad:
For the Sri Lanka tour, the T20 squad includes captain Salman Ali Agha, Abdul Samad, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Khawaja Muhammad Naveed, and Mohammad Nawaz.

Mohammad Salman Mirza, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan, Saeem Ayub, Shadab Khan, Usman Khan, and Usman Tariq are also part of the squad.
