Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk): A significant development has emerged in the reference related to alleged corruption in development projects in Gujrat, currently under hearing at the Accountability Court Lahore.
The court has decided to frame charges against former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and all other accused, and has scheduled January 15, 2026, for the formal indictment.
The Accountability Court judge heard the reference concerning alleged corruption in Gujrat’s development projects, during which copies of the reference were provided to co-accused Suleman Ahmed and Muzaffar Iqbal.
Meanwhile, the court has also sought arguments on the petition filed against the seizure and auction of assets belonging to Chaudhry Moonis Elahi. The petition was filed by Moonis Elahi through his mother, Qaisra Elahi, who holds his power of attorney.
Other accused named in the reference include Muhammad Khan Bhatti, Khalid Mahmood, Sohail Asghar Awan, Asif Mahmood, and others. The court has fixed January 15 for the next hearing to formally indict all the accused.
