Metro53 - Washington (Web Desk): Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado has presented her Nobel Peace Prize to US President Donald Trump.
Speaking to the media after meeting Trump at the White House, Maria Corina Machado said, “In recognition of his unique commitment to our freedom, I have presented my medal and Nobel Prize to the US president.” She added that it is a historic day for Venezuela and that the country can place its trust in the American president.
US President Donald Trump termed the gesture a magnificent sign of mutual respect and said that meeting Maria Corina Machado was a great honor, describing her as an extraordinary woman.
It is noteworthy that the Nobel Institute has already clarified that once a Nobel Prize is announced, it cannot be revoked, shared, or transferred to another person. However, White House officials have confirmed that Donald Trump is keeping the Nobel Peace Prize in his possession.
