King Charles III Extends Ramadan Greetings to Muslims Worldwide

Metro53 - London (Web Desk):With the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, King Charles III has extended warm greetings to Muslims across the world.

A special message was issued on February 17 through the official Instagram account of the British Royal Family on the photo and video sharing platform Instagram. The message conveyed heartfelt wishes of “Ramadan Mubarak” to Muslims around the globe.

According to the statement released by the Royal Palace, the Royal Family extends its best wishes for a blessed and peaceful Ramadan to Muslims in the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth, and worldwide.

Ramadan has begun on Wednesday, February 18, in the UK and several Gulf countries, and the holy month will conclude with the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr.

It is noteworthy that the Ramadan moon was sighted yesterday in Saudi Arabia as well as the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Palestine, and Afghanistan, marking today as the first day of fasting in these countries.

Meanwhile, the first fast will be observed on Thursday in Turkey, Sweden, Australia, Egypt, Oman, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, Indonesia, the Philippines, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, France, and Japan.

In Belgium and the United Kingdom, differences were seen within communities, with some announcing the start of Ramadan on Wednesday and others on Thursday.

In Pakistan, the meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to sight the Ramadan moon will be held today in Peshawar.
