Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk):Farooq Azam, Assistant Commissioner Sarai Alamgir, chaired an important meeting with representatives of the Anjuman-e-Tajran to discuss the availability of essential commodities and price regulation during the holy month of Ramadan.
The objective of the meeting was to provide relief to the public and ensure price stability in the market throughout Ramadan. It was mutually agreed that all basic food items would be sold strictly at officially notified government rates during the holy month.
Traders assured full cooperation with the district administration and expressed their commitment to maintaining price stability. It was also decided to establish Ramadan bazaars where special stalls would be set up at controlled rates to provide citizens with quality essential goods at affordable prices.
Assistant Commissioner Farooq Azam emphasized that traders must strictly adhere to the official price lists and refrain from hoarding or profiteering. He made it clear that the administration will closely monitor prices during Ramadan, and any violations will be dealt with in accordance with the law.
