The incident took place in Tehsil Shewa of North Waziristan, where Aina Wazir, a young cricket enthusiast, was filmed during a casual bowling session. Zafran Wazir was accused of spreading obscenity and immorality by making and circulating the video. Following the allegations, he was taken into custody by members of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

According to sources, the Taliban assured Zafran Wazir’s family that he would not be harmed, stating that TTP commanders would question him regarding the matter. During his detention, an apology video was recorded in which Zafran admitted to filming the video a few days earlier, showing Aina Wazir enjoying bowling. He said objections were raised by some individuals who termed the video against Islamic values, and he publicly apologized, urging others to avoid making such content.

Reports further stated that the apology video was recorded by unidentified individuals, showing Zafran seated on the floor while delivering his statement. After negotiations involving local tribal elders and political figures, Zafran Wazir was later released.

It is noteworthy that Aina Wazir’s bowling video had earlier gone viral on social media platform X, drawing widespread attention. Following the viral clip, Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi announced her inclusion in his league setup, praising her talent.

Aina Wazir belongs to Shewa Shaga Zalol Khel area of North Waziristan and is the daughter of late Umar Gul.
