Metro53 - PESHAWAR (Web Desk): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, in a press conference alongside PTI provincial president Junaid Akbar and Finance Advisor Mazammil Aslam, addressed concerns over Pakistan’s federal governance and economic decisions.

Speaking in Islamabad, Afridi directly addressed former U.S. President Donald Trump, stating that “our Prime Minister is Shahbaz Sharif” and criticizing foreign policies that, in his view, hinder Pakistan’s growth. He alleged that neither Israel nor the U.S. would support the progress of Pakistan as an Islamic nuclear power.

Afridi voiced strong criticism of the treatment of PTI founder Imran Khan, stating that the party and its leadership, including Bushra Bibi and her sisters, are facing unprecedented injustice. He also highlighted issues regarding the NFC award meeting, which he said was cancelled without explanation, calling it a sign of disregard for provincial concerns.

On economic matters, Afridi criticized federal spending, pointing to a $5 billion loan used to purchase aircraft with foreign pilots being paid high salaries. He warned that ongoing financial decisions are increasing the nation’s debt, worsening trade deficits, and driving youth to consider leaving the country.

He further accused the federal government of making decisions behind closed doors without consulting PTI or provincial leadership, stressing that such actions affect the entire nation, not just a single institution or family.

Afridi concluded by emphasizing the need for transparency, consultation, and responsible economic policies to prevent further hardships for Pakistani citizens.
