Gujrat accelerates tree plantation drive, thousands of saplings planted in Dhool Kalan

Metro53 - Gujrat: A large-scale tree plantation campaign has been launched in Dhool Kalan, with district authorities stepping up efforts to meet ambitious environmental targets.

Deputy Commissioner Gujrat, Noorul Ain, formally inaugurated the drive by planting a sapling at the site. The ceremony was attended by Chairman Green Pakistan and Clean Pakistan, Ghulam Rasool Pakistani, Conservator Forest Gujranwala Circle Mazhar Masood, Deputy Conservator Forest Gujrat Sajjad Haider Zaidi, and founder of Karwan Development Foundation and Green Express, Mazhar Hashmi.

Officials briefed participants that a total of 8,000 saplings are being planted in Dhool Kalan as part of the ongoing campaign. Under the Punjab government’s “Plant for Pakistan” initiative, the district has been assigned a target of planting 254,000 trees by April 30.

Speaking on the occasion, participants emphasised the critical role of afforestation in combating environmental challenges and urged citizens to actively contribute to the campaign by planting more trees. They stressed that collective efforts are essential to ensure a cleaner and greener environment for future generations.
