Metro53 - Jhelum (web Desk ) A Frontier Corps (FC) soldier who embraced martyrdom while on duty in Quetta was laid to rest with full military honours in his native village of Kandwal, near Pind Dadan Khan in Jhelum district, on Tuesday.
Funeral Attended by Large Gathering
Funeral prayers for Shaheed Muhammad Faisal Riaz were offered in his ancestral village. Senior military officials, members of civil society and a large number of local residents attended the funeral to pay tribute to the fallen soldier.
Buried with Full Military Honours
Following the funeral prayers, the martyr was buried with full military honours. A ceremonial salute was presented, while floral wreaths were laid on his grave.
Family Mourns Sole Breadwinner
According to family members, Muhammad Faisal Riaz was the only brother of four sisters and had been married only five months ago. He was also the sole breadwinner of the family following the death of his father and had been carrying the household’s responsibilities.
Village with a History of Sacrifice
Kandwal, located in Jhelum district, is regarded as one of the areas that has produced a significant number of martyrs. Residents say the village has a long-standing tradition of sacrifice in service of the country.
Tributes Paid to the Martyr
As the body reached the village, grief spread across the area and mourners gathered in large numbers to pay their final respects. Residents said the nation would always remember the sacrifices of its brave sons and that the martyrdom of Muhammad Faisal Riaz would remain a source of pride for the community.
