Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk) A Crime Control Department officer was shot dead in Gujrat after unidentified motorcyclists opened fire in the Jalalpur Jattan area, officials said.
The victim, identified as Fayyaz Shah, was serving with the CCD. He was targeted by unknown assailants while in Jalalpur Jattan city and died at the scene.
According to initial details, the slain officer is survived by his widow and three children, including a one-month-old baby girl.
Following the attack, Sohail Zafar Chatha, head of the Punjab CCD, took notice of the incident and ordered an immediate response. Authorities have sealed entry and exit points in the area and launched a search operation to arrest the suspects.
The incident comes just weeks after another police official was killed near Karianwala when armed robbers opened fire, underlining growing concerns over attacks on law enforcement personnel in the region.
