Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk): District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat, Akhtar Farooq, visited various Imambargahs across the district to inspect security arrangements ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram and ensure the implementation of comprehensive safety measures.
During the visit, the DPO inspected Imambargah Garha Habib in the jurisdiction of Bolani Police Station and Imambargah Hussainia Sajjadia Pirsawal in the limits of Karianwala Police Station. He met with police officers deployed at the sites and received detailed briefings on the security plan.
Officials informed him about surveillance of entry and exit points, the installation and functionality of CCTV cameras, deployment of walk-through gates, search and sweep operations, and other precautionary measures designed to maintain law and order during the holy month.
The DPO directed officers to ensure maximum security for participants attending Majalis and religious processions, emphasizing the need for coordinated and effective implementation of all security protocols.
Speaking on the occasion, Akhtar Farooq stated that Gujrat Police is utilizing all available resources to maintain peace, promote religious harmony, and ensure a safe environment during Muharram-ul-Haram. He added that the police force remains fully prepared to respond to any situation and safeguard citizens throughout the observance of the month.
