Metro53 - Sheikhupura’s Crime Control Department (CCD) claimed to have killed five suspected robbers in an alleged police encounter near Muridke.
According to a CCD spokesperson, the suspects were involved in looting citizens around the Kartoo Stop area and were wanted for serious crimes, including murder, kidnapping, and armed robbery.
Following the shootout, law enforcement officials said they recovered weapons, motorcycles, and other stolen items from the suspects. Authorities added that the deceased were also linked to the killing of a woman and several cases of attempted murder.
The incident came just a day after six suspects were reportedly killed in multiple encounters with CCD personnel across Lahore and nearby districts. Police said the suspects were shot dead during exchanges of fire, in several cases by bullets fired from their own accomplices.
In Chiniot, one robber was killed near a railway crossing while two others managed to escape. On Faisalabad Road, a suspect attempting to snatch a motorcycle was later found dead in fields, identified as Hassan Jahangir.
Meanwhile, in Gojra, police said two men identified as Riyasat Ali and Muhammad Irshad were killed in crossfire after refusing to stop at a checkpoint, while their two associates fled the scene.
