The newly established lounges at Gujrat Police Lines have been designed with the comfort, mental relaxation, and welfare of the officers in mind. To honor the services and sacrifices of the Elite Force officers, the lounges have been named “Ghazi Waqar Lounge” and “Ghazi Umar Lounge”, ensuring that the young officers are constantly reminded of the courage and dedication of their heroes.
Addressing the gathering, DPO Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq said that the sacrifices of the police force are a valuable asset of the nation and it is the shared responsibility of all to keep the memories of martyrs and veterans alive. He emphasized that police personnel work tirelessly day and night to protect citizens’ lives and property, and therefore, their welfare and facilities should remain a top priority for the department.
He further explained that the construction of these lounges involved recycling old and unusable equipment of the Gujrat Police, turning it into functional and modern furniture. According to him, this step is a fine example of efficient and wise resource utilization, reducing costs while promoting self-reliance and innovation within the department.
Rana Umar Farooq appreciated the efforts of the officers and personnel who completed the project, noting that such creative initiatives boost morale, encourage discipline, and foster modern thinking within the police force. He expressed hope that similar welfare projects for police personnel will continue in the future.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, attendees toured the lounges and praised the initiative as a commendable and exemplary step by Gujrat Police.
