Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk): Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has been transferred, and Rao Abdul Kareem has been appointed as the new IG Punjab, sources confirmed.
According to provincial government sources, several names were considered for the position of IG Punjab, including IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed, CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kameyana, and Additional IG CTD Waseem Sial.
Geo News sources report that Dr. Usman Anwar is likely to be appointed as Director General (DG) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) at the federal level.
According to the report, Dr. Usman Anwar was appointed as IG Punjab on January 24, 2023, and he served in the position for more than three years.
