Metro53 - Sarai Alamgir (Awais Madni) The trial in an alleged bribery case involving the receipt of hundreds of thousands of rupees from a Karachi-based trader is currently underway, while the court has approved bail for four accused, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of City Police Station Saraye Alamgir.
The arrested accused—ASI Usmanullah of City Police Station, Constable Sohail, Constable Hasnain, and Raja Safir—were presented before Area Magistrate Muhammad Ahmad. The defense was represented by Advocate Raja Naveed Anjum and Advocate Chaudhry Wasib Hussain, General Secretary of Saraye Alamgir Bar, who presented arguments on behalf of the accused.
After hearing the arguments, Area Magistrate Muhammad Ahmad approved bail for all four accused against surety bonds of Rs 100,000 each and issued their release orders.
It is noteworthy that Karachi-based trader Shafiq Siddiqui had earlier registered a case against three police officials of Saraye Alamgir City Police Station on charges of alleged bribery, illegal recovery, and unlawful confinement.
