Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk) — In a price control operation in the outskirts of Gujrat, authorities took strict action against butchers and shopkeepers in Jalalpur Jattan for violating officially notified rates.
Assistant Commissioner Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon conducted inspections in various markets and reviewed meat prices. During the operation, several vendors were fined a total of Rs 20,500 for charging prices higher than the government-fixed rates.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon stated that strict enforcement of the official price list would be ensured and that indiscriminate action would continue against violators. He emphasized that providing relief to the public is the top priority of the district administration and that price-checking operations will continue without interruption.
The administration has also advised citizens to immediately lodge complaints if any shopkeeper charges more than the fixed rates, so that timely action can be taken.
