India scored 255 for five in their allotted 20 overs, with the top order producing an aggressive batting display before the lower order accelerated the scoring in the closing stages.
Sanju Samson led the charge with a blistering 89 off 46 balls. Abhishek Sharma contributed 52 from 21 deliveries, while Ishan Kishan struck 54 off 25 balls. In the final overs, Shivam Dube added a quick 28 from eight balls to push India to the imposing total.
For New Zealand, Jimmy Neesham claimed three wickets, while Matt Henry and Rachin Ravindra picked up one wicket each.
