Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk): Police in Sarai Alamgir carried out a successful operation against drug dealers and arrested a suspect, recovering a large quantity of hashish from his possession. According to police officials, the operation was part of an ongoing campaign to curb the spread of drugs in the area and protect the younger generation from this menace.
According to details, the action was conducted on the instructions of District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq and under the supervision of DSP Sarai Alamgir Circle Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Mekan. SHO Police Station Sadar Sarai Alamgir Aftab Rasool Chohan along with Sub-Inspector Usman Bashir carried out the raid with a police team.
During the operation, the police arrested the accused Israr Ahmed, son of Mehfooz Hussain, belonging to the Jutt community and resident of Pindi Jattan.
Police officials said that 1,140 grams of hashish were recovered from the suspect, with an estimated value of hundreds of thousands of rupees. A case has been registered against the accused at Sarai Alamgir Sadar Police Station and further investigation has been initiated.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Rana Umar Farooq stated that drug dealers are a cancer for society and strict action will continue against them without discrimination. He emphasized that Gujrat Police is determined to eliminate drugs and will take firm legal action against those involved in such activities.
