Metro53 - Lahore (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Moonis Elahi has criticized the government’s reported decision that cabinet members will not draw salaries, calling it “drama rather than real savings.”
In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Moonis Elahi said the real expenditure comes from the petrol and privileges used by cabinet members and their staff at the expense of public funds.
Addressing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he remarked that if the government truly wants to make sacrifices, it should cut its own expenses rather than placing additional burdens on the public.
His comments come amid ongoing political debate in Pakistan over government spending and economic challenges faced by citizens.
