Metro53 - GUJRAT: The local administration on Wednesday sealed a shop and seized a large quantity of counterfeit cigarettes during a joint operation conducted by the Assistant Commissioner and the Excise and Taxation Department.
According to official sources, Assistant Commissioner Abdul Qadeer Zarkoon led the कार्रवाई against the illegal sale of fake cigarettes in the area. During the raid, officials recovered a significant stock of counterfeit cigarettes, which was subsequently confiscated, while the shop was sealed on the spot.
Authorities stated that legal proceedings have been initiated against those involved in the unlawful business.
The assistant commissioner reaffirmed that operations against counterfeit and illegal goods would continue without interruption to curb illicit trade in the district.
