Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk) – In Kharian, police carried out a crackdown against kite sellers, arresting two individuals and recovering a large number of kites and chemical strings.
According to details, on the instructions of Rana Umar Farooq, a strict crackdown is ongoing across the district against kite flyers and sellers. In this regard, the police of Saddar Police Station Kharian conducted raids at two different locations based on secret information.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of DSP Kharian Circle Shahid Mahmood, while SHO Inspector Tauqeer-ul-Hasan Ranjha led the police team. During the raids, two kite sellers were caught red-handed and arrested.
According to police, approximately 300 kites and more than a dozen chemical strings were recovered from the possession of the accused. During initial interrogation, the suspects confessed that they were planning to sell kites on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, but timely action by the police foiled their plan.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Wajid Hussain and Shehnawaz. Separate cases have been registered against them, and further investigations are underway.
Police officials have warned the public that kite making, selling, and flying are illegal acts, and strict action will be taken against violators without discrimination. Parents have also been urged to keep their children away from such dangerous and unlawful activities.
