Metro53 - Gujrat (Web Desk): A new public welfare facility has been launched in Gujrat, allowing the bodies of deceased individuals to be transported free of charge from government hospitals across the district to their homes.
The Deceased Care Service, launched under the supervision of Rescue 1122 District Emergency Officer Engineer Umar Akbar Ali Ghuman, aims to provide grieving families with a prompt, safe and dignified transportation facility during a difficult time.
Under the service, whenever a citizen dies at a government hospital, their body will be transported safely to their home without any charges being collected from the family.
According to officials, any resident of Gujrat whose family member has died at a government hospital can contact the Rescue 1122 helpline at any time to access the free transportation service.
The initiative by the Punjab Government and Rescue 1122 is being welcomed as an important step toward supporting families during their most difficult moments and ensuring timely and dignified assistance.
