Metro53 - Karachi (Web Desk) — The Pakistan Space & Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has announced that the last supermoon of 2025, also called December’s “Cold Moon,” will be visible tonight.
According to SUPARCO, the supermoon can be clearly observed in Pakistan on the nights of December 4 and 5. This December Cold Moon marks the third consecutive supermoon of the year and will reach its peak at 99.8 percent illumination on the morning of December 5 at 4:15 a.m.
SUPARCO further stated that the moon will rise in Pakistan at 4:58 p.m. on December 4, at 99.2 percent illumination. During the nights of December 4 and 5, the distance between the Earth and the moon will be 357,218 kilometers.
During a supermoon, the moon appears approximately 7.9 percent larger and 15 percent brighter than usual. Globally, supermoons typically occur three to four times a year.
