Police Bust Dead Chicken Supply in Gujrat Ahead of Eid

Metro53 - GUJRAT (Web Desk) – Police foiled an attempt to supply 60 maunds of dead chickens in Gujrat. The suspect involved in transporting the dead poultry was arrested, and the vehicle was seized.

According to details, under the guidance of DPO Gujrat Rana Umar Farooq, and supervision of DSP Lala Musa Circle Chaudhry Ehsan Zafar Sandhu, an operation against criminal elements was ongoing in Lala Musa Circle.

The SHO of Gujrat Saddar Police Station, Inspector Ijaz Hussain, received a tip-off that a heavy vehicle was carrying dead chickens intended for sale in different areas of Gujrat. Acting promptly, police set up a checkpoint at Galanwala Chowk, stopped the vehicle, and inspected it.

The police recovered 60 maunds of dead chickens. The suspect, Asif Ali son of Abdul Razaq, was arrested, and the vehicle was taken into police custody.

Authorities emphasized that this dangerous attempt to compromise public health, especially ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, was prevented in time. The hazardous poultry was later destroyed under the supervision of Punjab Food Authority officials. Further investigation into the suspect is ongoing.
